FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tell us what you think! That's the message from Somerset County Freeholder Brian D. Levine, who invites county residents to take a new survey that will help steer state funding for substance-abuse services.

The Somerset County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services County Comprehensive Planning process is getting under way, led by Tom O'Leary, chair of the Local Advisory Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (LACADA), and county Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Coordinator Brenda Pateman. This planning process identifies Somerset County substance-use disorder services and guides the allocation of Alcohol Education, Rehabilitation and Enforcement Funding (AEREF), also known as the alcohol tax.

"It is important that we hear from many different people so that we can better understand Somerset County's characteristics," said Freeholder Levine, human services liaison. "We would really like your unique voices to be heard in this Alcohol and Drug Services Planning Survey. We want to find out what county residents think about the alcoholism and drug abuse services available within our county."

You can complete the survey in English at http://bit.ly/LACADAEnglish or in Spanish at http://bit.ly/LACADASpanish The deadline for responses is March 13.

You also can print a copy of the survey from the county website at http://bit.ly/LACADA2015 Return completed surveys via mail, fax or email to Emilia Fletcher, Somerset County Department of Human Services, Office of Operations and Planning, P.O.
