Be a Part of Keeping Our Community Safe
On Wednesday, August 31, 2016, please join Hunterdon Prevention Resources (HPR) and the Safe Communities Coalition of Hunterdon/Somerset to honor and remember loved ones who have died from an overdose death. This event is being held as part of International Overdose Awareness Day, which aims to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths.
Help to keep our community, and our youth, safe by participating in our Community Conversation on the steps of the historic Hunterdon County Court House, Main Street, Flemington, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Learn about the 911 Lifeline Legislation and the Overdose Protection Act, both enacted to help save lives in the event of alcohol and/or drug overdose.
There will be giveaways throughout the event for various gift cards, healthy snacks and water will be provided, and light music will be available for entertainment. We have asked community leaders to briefly speak and give their perspective of the opioid problem here in Hunterdon County. Speeches will be presented from 5:15 - 5:30 pm, followed by a Moment of Silence in honor of those lost.
It's time to remember; it's time to act!
